I am passionate about engineering and managing search and recommendation products and platforms. I spent the last 15 years working with organisations with interesting research, end-user and business problems to solve, and have built a track record of moving key business metrics along the way. I achieve all these through building capabilities from ground up, attracting and inspiring smart people to push the boundary, translating bleeding edge research into tangible commercial outcomes, and (still) being hands-on myself (occasionally). I have a PhD in Computer Science from The University of Western Australia. I have published over 50 articles in search, recommendation and conversational systems, with over 900 citations. I occasionally deliver guest lectures on practical data science and algorithm analysis at RMIT University.
